Can architecture exist in outer space?
Can architecture exist in the visual vacuum of space? Should space constructions serve any purpose beyond purely practical concerns? How can architecture exist when the relationship of the human and its constructed environment is challenged? One man might have the answers.
Bio
Craig William McCormack is a lecturer, current PhD candidate in the UWA School of Design’s architecture faculty, and a director of felix. Laboratories. A co-creative director of the Australian Pavilion in the 2014 Venice Architecture Biennale, McCormack was a recipient of the 2016 Fulbright Western Australian Postgraduate Scholarship where he studied at the Sasakawa International Center for Space Architecture. His thesis research concerns the possibility of architecture in outer space, though he is no great rush to leave the Earth anytime soon.
